Innocent of the crime, he was convicted by everyone, including Elise who held him responsible for her father’s death due to him delivering a letter to Francois’ room after not being able to deliver it in person. One day it was all taken from him when he was framed for Francois’ murder and thrown into the Bastille. Arno became a witty young man, prone to trouble making with a pastime of cheating at cards. 13 years passed and he lived contently, with the best food, medicine, and tutors available. Francois De La Serre adopted the young boy and raised him as his son alongside Arno's adoptive sister, Elise. This ended when his father was murdered when he was only 8. Arno lived a comfortable, albeit lonely life, traveling around Europe and Northern Africa with his father. Arno’s mother was Marie Dorian, an Austrian noblewoman who left her family upon finding out her husband’s affiliation with the Brotherhood, leaving Charles to raise their son alone. Arno Victor Dorian was a native of Versailles, born 1768 to Charles Dorian a French nobleman born to a long line of Assassins and posing as a wool merchant.
